3D Printable STL files for World War 2 Tabletop Wargaming

About

Hello once again all of you tabletop gamers, we are back again with a new project.

once more we aim to target a specific type of scenery and this time the start point is key locations and urban style wargaming, that's not to say we will stay on point as like all of our KS projects we let you the backer steer it past a certain point so after the initial start it goes where you want it to go.

The base scale of the files will be 28mm but i have designed these to print right down to 6mm scales.

But for now we have setups that hope to match one another and build expanding campaigns or areas of the battle. World War 2 the city fighting was mainly preceded by the heavy town to town fighting that took place (Caen and Carentan being examples) these battles were as fierce as any other and key to winning the war, so i have designed town centres and factory setups where the buildings kind of match and look like they would be from one town and not a mix of styles from off your shelves to make the scenario.

I'm going to kick it off by offering in the starter package a large number of files and buildings from three scenario types, then the stretch goals will be individual files that enhance one or all of them, but heavily influenced by what you guys ask for.

anyway hopefully that explains the reasoning that lead to this campaign and i hope you like what you see and feel comfortable backing it, the usual after sales 24/7 is a given on this and all projects from WOWBuildings

one change i have made for this and all future projects is wall and detail thickness, with the aim to go down as low as 6mm i have thickened out the walls and detailing, its only a couple of mm but that makes massive difference at low scales, all files will be uploaded at 28mm scale, where i can and it fits the design windows and doors will be added. I do avoid rubble as i don't like how it looks when printed so glue, sand and grit added to them is how i would personally go and makes them look amazing, textured paint and spray is recommended to give flat wall areas a great look.

Remember all of you backers this is your project so ask and if its possible it will be added.

I'm going to do a little change this time too, as there is one backing level that gets all of the starter and stretch goals opened or unopened, with me guaranteeing that there is always going to be at least one unopened no matter how far we stretch

Risks and challenges

DIGITAL MEDIA:

We strive to produce models that will print with as little support and parts as possible. Some models print in one go whilst most are split up into parts which must be printed separately and then assembled.

The file format of choice will be .STL and the models shall be zipped and made available to the user for download. The user is responsible for downloading their product and must have a valid Internet connection and email with which to collect their reward, via Internet download. We will keep the files on our system for at least three months after the first date of issue. The user must ensure that he collects the files within this time frame or risk forfeit.

Backers must realise that the resolution you obtain on your print is down to the system you use. Our high resolution files will give you almost render quality prints on high end SLA machines, whilst the same files will produce lesser resolution prints on standard FDM printers. At any rate, all the files have been previously tested on SLA and FDM printers and have shown satisfactory produce.

We recommend FDM Prints with at least a 400micron nozzle and 200 micron layer height for terrain. A 100 micron layer height will give you outstanding prints all round. We have also tested the files with larger nozzles, at 500 microns and decent results are possible on most prints, if the layer height and temperature is controlled correctly. 0.5(500 micron) nozzles are not recommended for miniature printing.

SLA printers should have no problems obtaining excellent resolution and finish even at 100 micron layer height although 50 micron layer height is recommended for minute sculpt detail clarity. We will try our best to split models so they will fit in smaller print beds like those found on SLA machines. Although miniatures and figurines can be split into smaller parts, large terrain pieces will require a standard 220x220mm print bed. Standard for FDM Printers like the 'Ender3'

We supply the user with a design that has been tested on conventional home hobby printers and is proven to print.

All the models are tested and sliced with 'Cura' software which is freeware and available to all backers for use. We recommend that backers use 'Cura' as it is fully tested with our models and we can offer customer support, if any problems are encountered. We are unable to give customer support for other slicing software and backers use this at their own risk.

When using our digital media, we do not hold ourselves responsible for the production or manufacturing process of the design, this is exclusively up to the user.

Users may modify models and files at their own risk and only for their own personal use. Modified files are not guaranteed by us and as such, users do this under their own risk and know how.

The Images shown on the campaign page are just for visualisation and although they may come very close, they are not an exact representation of the final design or printed model, which may vary.

We reserve the right to alter any of the models shown, at any time, before delivery, with the intent of improving the design, or efficiency of production.
