Ladies and Gentlemen,
The group "Fix Bayonets" has been created for a while now and especially with the unusual circumstances in the world that are facing us, I think it's more then time for an update.
As you all know "Fix Bayonets" is also a rules set that will accompany our first WWI game box. After much effort next week we will launch the first short version of the rules on our group "Fix Bayonets".
The release of our game box was scheduled early 2020, due to various circumstances the release has suffered some delay.
The box contains nearly 90 different sculpted miniatures, most of the masters are ready, some still need a finishing touch. In order to make the production moulds we need high quality castings of the masters, called sub-masters. Most of the sub-masters have been casted and cleaned to perfection and quite some production moulds have went to the vulcanising press. No complaints but since we're all at home I have to do all of this by myself and I still have a few to go. I'm also waiting on a few items for the box that need to arrive.
Gradually I will post some pictures of the new miniatures that will be in the box. Cavalry sculpts will always have five different troopers and another five different command figures this week we'll be looking at German uhlan cavalry troopers, please have a look at the pictures below.

Best Regards and a good health to all of you!!!

WSS command pack "A", French style from Van Dyck Models
So these are the flag bearers for our "War of the Spanish Succession" command pack that was announced earlier. The command pack is now complete and holds ten different figures. For one month however we will ship all command packs with two additional drummers, so until the 7th of October this command pack will hold four officers, four drummers and four flag bearers. Production starts this week so please notice all orders placed now will be shipped on the 17th of September.
WSS command pack "A", French style.
Although you can use them for other nations as well, the figures in this pack are best suited for the French regiments. They have been made to the best of my ability and knowledge of the time period. I found no evidence for French officers to wear sashes for example, so the officers shown here don't have a sash. Also notice the flag pole pikes, they are topped with a French "fleur de lice".
We will also release "British" and "Dutch" style of infantry and the command packs to go with them. They are in preparation.

1/144 Belgian Light Armoured Train from Van Dyck Models
In addition to our upcoming WWI ranges we would like to share with you some images of a Belgian Light armoured train no release date yet.
Early after the outbreak of the war the decision was made to build several armoured trains. At least three light and three heavy armoured trains were build. These are somewhat forgotten weapons and have never been build as a model kit either.
Anyway we are building the "light" armoured train that consisted of a front wagon 18 meters long with a 57mm Nordefeld rapid firing gun at the front and a Hotchkiss machine gun on both sides. The only surviving image of this train shows this wagon (see below).
Then came the locomotive, "type de l'état 15" and later "type 32".
After the locomotive came another small wagon 6 meter long with a Hotchkiss machine gun at the back.
Have a look at the first images:

War of the Spanish Succession from Van Dyck Models
New range under construction: War of the Spanish Succession. First pack will be available on pre-sale, all sales will be shipped next Monday, the 23rd of April.
War of the Spanish Succession
This range was originally planned for the second half of this year but I did have them on preview at "Tactica" in Hamburg. Wargames Illustrated, also present at "Tactica" came by our stand for some pictures and this way the news got out a bit sooner then expected.
I've had a lot questions about when they will be available. First I don't want to alarm our ancient and WWI customers that might think these ranges will see no new items this year, don't worry, a lot of new ancients and WWI packs will appear this year. In fact our WWI German machine guns are just waiting for the production moulds to be released.
And secondly since the first pack of WSS figures is ready, they are available for those of you who want to see our miniatures and to have a feel of what this range will be about.
The pack contains 4x7 miniatures in march attack and two different sergeants.
Some information on the approach of this range.
Since the uniforms for this time period are so beautiful I really wanted to make miniatures that stood out accordingly. To increase their overall appeal and to make them look more dynamic I made seven figures in march attack, all with different heads, hair and slightly different poses. These seven different figures will serve as a basis for the other infantry troop types. For example, the first batch has a ventral ammunition pouch and can be used for French and Spanish infantry. The next will have their ammunition pouch on the right hip, grenadier versions will have different headgear, etc. This way I hope to cover most of the infantry uniforms in use during the war of the Spanish succession. Cavalry and artillery will be covered in the same way.
After all the core elements are present we can look if there are any gaps in the range that need additional figures.

10mm Germanic Tribesmen from Van Dyck Models
Barbarians at the gates, New release: Germanic Tribesmen!
Although some packs were already available on "crisis 2016" last year and some more at the "Hamburger Tactica" we finally (and after much delay) have them available at our online website as well.
Causing all this delay was partly because I got carried away on the diversity of this range, altogether there are over 60 different new figurines. The few information available states ancient Germanic tribesmen did not wear any protective headgear so I invested a lot in making different heads. I made an effort to depict the various ways these warriors arranged their hair, certainly a considerable part of them wears the famous "Suebian" knot. No uniforms so I made a selection of different breeches, long and short ones, with and without puttees, shirts both with and without sleeves.
In the next few weeks I will present all the different packs available, starting with the young warriors, who will probably make up the bulk of the army. Their equipment is very basic for they have only a shield and one weapon, mostly the spear, with them. Most of them wear no beards. It won't be the new standard but a pack of these warriors contains 30 different miniatures.
