Brookes Gun Car from Vital Ground Creative

It was inevitable that I would find something irresistible to have a go at. General Lee wanted cannons on rail cars so they created one. Sometimes called a Brookes Gun Car as it was a Brookes Naval 32 Pdr cannon.

Ok it’s meant to have a naval gun but I’m sure General Lee wouldn’t mind a field piece as a proxy.

Arlington Heights Blockhouse from Vital Ground Creative

ACW 10mm Arlington Heights Blockhouse coming soon (few tweaks to sort out but pretty much there).

The external staircase had a draw bridge to prevent unwanted visitors Staircase is a little fiddly to make - once I have that ironed out it should be a fun piece. Maybe a railway mounted artillery piece is the order of the day.

Robinson House from Vital Ground Creative

A small family home, the Robinson House was used as a hospital, surviving both battles.
The building was destroyed by arsonists in 1993.

Been quiet on the Vital Ground Creative front for a week or two but I’ve cut a first try of the church at Foy in Belgium (Battle of the Bulge).

WIP Shiloh Methodist Church from Vital Ground Creative

Another work in progress Shiloh Methodist Church. Damaged by artillery during the battle the building collapsed after the battle, only to be rebuilt more than once.

WWII Pillbox from Vital Ground Creative

Something a little different WWII Pillbox - Egryn Abbey, N Wales

A curious little pillbox - brick built with a concrete slab roof. Ideal for the defence of Operation Sealion or VBCW.

The model is a first cut MDF model with some improvements already been made for a second (confirmatory) cut. The roof is removable and a 20mm / 1p base fits inside if desired.

This is the tip of an Iceberg of Pillboxes I have - 10mm is an ideal scale to show variety so let’s have variety...(so more pillboxes to follow)

Pry Mill, Antietam (10mm / 1:150 Truescale), First off lasered last night. Assembled, primed and first paint on this evening. As it was used as a hospital I thought I would show it with some Pendraken ambulances and stretcher bearers (beautifully painted by Peter McCourt).

WIP photos of some buildings for modern 10mm ( but could be useful from 1930s onwards) Buildings based on Settler Houses (social housing in Germany) These were built in the 1930s and are still standing (albeit modernised) in the Spandau district of Berlin.
