Update from Plastic Soldier Company

Since our last update, we have been determining how to best adapt to the current situation to ensure the safety of our staff while remaining operational as a business. Given the changes we previously announced, we’re able to continue operating but below our normal capacity.

Rest assured, we will continue to do all we can to support our valued customers with models and games to help you get through this unique and challenging period. Today we want to update you with the latest information about our two upcoming releases: MeG and NORTHAG.
Production of pre-orders for both products has been progressing nicely. The new 15mm ULTRACAST MeG figures are nearly complete and we have boxes on site and ready for packaging them. The MeG rulebook will be at the printers next week. Similarly, we have the ULTRACAST 10mm NORTHAG models nearly complete and the rulebook will arrive soon.

We were of course going to launch all of this at Salute, which has been postponed. Instead, we are going to launch with an exciting online programme.
MeG Day will have three webinars with the game system’s author Simon Hall and Dr. Simon Elliot (author of numerous popular books on Rome). They will give a rules overview, play and display a historical refight, and offer commentary and Q&A for viewers.

• Simon Hall - Battle of Catalania Plains 451AD with Attila facing the late imperial Romans.
• Dr. Simon Elliott - Battle of Sabis 57BC with Caesar’s later republican Romans ambushed by the Belgian Nervii.

Details will follow shortly, and you will be able to watch for free and join in the conversation pre-, mid-, and post-battle.

A series of podcasts and some pre-publication chapters will also be coming out in advance of MeG Day for you to enjoy and share with other enthusiasts. Age of Attila – our first Age of Great Commanders book by Richard Jeffrey-Cook - is likely to be out at the end of May.
n support of NORTHAG Day, our good friends at OnTabletop (Beasts of War) will be hosting the release with an interview with NORTHAG author, Warwick Kinrade, rulebook flick through, models review and unboxing and a superb product giveaway competition

ONWARDS AND UPWARDS

Barring a shutdown at the printers or the couriers/PO you should have all these lovely new products to enjoy in late April or early May. Despite the current challenges, we remain enthusiastic and optimistic about the future. I can heartily recommend both MeG and NorthAg to you all. If you have never tried either of the periods do give them a try.

Looking forward, we have many exciting products being developed:
• The next wave of MeG ULTRACAST figures (on top of the Late Romans, Huns, Goths and Sassanids out at launch).
o Early Imperial Roman and Gallic sets using the highly regarded Corvus Belli masters
o Greeks and Persians sets using the equally renowned Xyston masters
o We are planning a rolling program of new box sets and unit pouches going forward
• For NORTHAG we will be rounding out the British and Soviet forces over the next few months and the Centag supplement next year with US, West German, east German and generic NATO models to accompany
• For Battlegroup we have the Pacific campaign supplement with accompanying range of miniatures in the works and Warwick is currently working away on the Stalingrad campaign supplement.
• For our existing 15mm and 20mm WW2 we have a number of new products planned including the 20mm 250 Neu, 17 pounder, some new 20mm infantry sets and a whole bunch of conversion kits.
• Simon Hall’s other triple CCC rules sets for Renaissance, WW2, Napoleonics and 1-1 skirmish games are all nearly completely developed.
• On the boardgame front, we have The Defence of Procyon III coming to Kickstarter on 21 April, with Rome & Roll, Britannia: Classic and Duel edition coming this spring/summer together with a reprint of the hugely popular Blitzkrieg! We also have some very exciting new big game projects we will be announcing soon…

NorthAG Backer-Only PDF Plastic Soldier Company

Well at some point today and tomorrow, the NorthAG backers will be getting a first look at the rulebook with their Backer-Only PDF!

In other NorthAG news, production is ramping up on the pre-order sets for the backers, stock is being built up and more moulds brought online. Infantry finally out of the mould... ;)

We are also commencing the design work on the next wave of BAOR and Soviet models. These are new models, so not ones from the original pre-order system. These will fill out the army list options with Fox and Ferrets, Gaskins, BMP-Ks and all manner of goodies.

NorthAG is coming along nicely so far. We are still looking at the final retail release date for those that didn't back the pre-order and we are having to take a look at things again, given current events and issues rising from the Covid-19 restrictions. That said, we are still pulling all the stops out to get NorthAG out as soon as possible!

It's Been A Testing Week from Plastic Soldier Company

It's been a testing week. So we decided on some good news.

As a surprise gift to all the NorthAG pre-order backers, they will be receiving a PDF copy of the rules shortly as thanks for backing the rules!

This will be sent out in the next few days, as soon as it has been optimised for screen viewing. So backers around the world will get the rulebook at the same time and can begin reading and gaming NorthAG! :)

COVID-19 Situation from Plastic Soldier Company

To our valued customers and supporters,

We want to take this opportunity to update you on how our operations are proceeding considering the COVID-19 situation and the government’s response.

We are taking the situation seriously and the safety of our staff and customers is our highest priority. We are working in full compliance with the UK government’s latest guidelines and almost all staff are working from home. There is only one person on-site at a time and we are taking additional efforts to protect our staff.

We will continue to operate our e-commerce business until we are directed to stop and will update you should this occur.

Updates on Salute from Plastic Soldier Company

Updates on Salute and upcoming releases

As you most likely already know, Salute 2020 has been cancelled due to the current Covid-19 emergency. We wish the Warlords the best of luck in getting the show back up and running for 2021.
As for us, obviously we will not be at a show now for our big releases and our demo teams will be at a loose end!

We intend to continue as we are, getting Mortem et Gloriam and NorthAG and their miniatures ready to send out to pre-order backers as soon as possible.

We may encounter some delays due to the current environment, but currently all is well and on track.
We will then be looking at a huge online release of the new systems to get it out to players. If you know of any podcasts or wargame chat shows that would like to have a chat with the designers, then let us know!

PSC will be open for business as usual through these testing times to make sure that our customers get what they need.

We will also be helping out with some specials and treats, so keep an eye on the website and social media!

Been doing some trial runs, test pics for the book's photo shoot in Feb, as 10mm is new to me. Not sure what I'm aiming for yet... but you can get more models in the frame at this size! Maybe just cram in tanks, track-to-track, that'll look cool! Or something a bit more realistic.

As far as an update on production... it's all going well. Busy, but well. In regards the models, we are well on the way with testing and production moulds. In regards the book, it's all written and just requires photos and artwork to be laid out. This should happen during February and then it will be off to the printers.

This means we are still on target to make sure the pre-order customers get their toys well before the retail release at Salute 2020 in April.

So, for example, the all-in Northag Starter Deal is £138 worth of product for only £100!

Choose the items you wish to pre-order and complete your shipping and payment details. Your cards will be charged after our shop closes on 18 November 2019, and we'll ship your order out as soon as the products hit our warehouse in Spring 2020 (and before retail release at Salute in April).

Upon release, our starter armies, boxed sets, and the rulebook will be available through selected retailers and direct from PSC; all other products will be available only from PSC.

Our shipping rates are a flat fee, so the more items you order the more cost-effective your shipping becomes.
