US Firebase in 10mm Day 2 from Timecast

After allowing the model to dry/set completely overnight first job was to apply the sand texture. I used a slightly watered down PVA while glue brushed generously on to the area required. Put the model on a tray then scatter over the sand and leave for 20 minutes or so, then shake off the excess and touch up any bits missed. Leave to dry completely - about 2 - 3 hours does it. Don't be tempted to put it in the sun or use a hairdryer to speed things up, the MDF is likely to warp!

After the sand is dry apply the base coat over the sand. No need to be too particular at this stage. When the base earth tone is dry paint everything else Olive Drab (Coat d Arms 508), now you need to be careful not to get the Olive Drab onto the earth base coat. Leave to dry, an hour is enough this time.

Last stage for today is to apply the wash I use the Coat d'Arms Light Brown Supershader with a bit of Dark Brown mixed in as I find Light Brown on its own a bit too light. Leave to dry thoroughly, overnight preferably.
