All Hands on Deck: Let’s Close Out 2018 by Saving Even More Hallowed Ground

All Hands on Deck: Let’s Close Out 2018 by Saving Even More Hallowed Ground

Whether you celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, or simply having some days off to spend with loved ones, the holidays are a time to reflect on and support the things and people we hold dearest. If American history is one of the things you hold dear, I hope you’ll be happy to learn about a special, limited-time opportunity to protect it.

From now until the stroke of midnight on New Year’s Eve, several of our most dedicated longtime donors have agreed to match all contributions to the American Battlefield Trust up to $100,000. That means your donation today will go twice as far toward supporting battlefield preservation and American history education. It’s been a banner year at the Trust, but we’ve still got land to save and education to support before 2019 arrives. Our most urgent goals for what remains of 2018 are to save 18 critical acres of Seminary Ridge at Gettysburg, 50 Richmond-area acres that were hallowed first in the Battle of Gaines’ Mill and then again at the Battle of Cold Harbor.

In sustaining our mission, you honor the sacrifices of the men and women who built, defended and defined our nation at these sacred sites. You also ensure that future generations will be able to learn from some of the best outdoor classrooms in the world.

Please take advantage of this powerful opportunity to double your impact during the season of giving by making a gift to save hallowed ground today. Together, we can protect our national treasures and give a gift that will benefit Americans of all ages, today and for decades or even centuries to come.

Already made an annual contribution to save Seminary Ridge or the Richmond-area land? Consider using one of our e-cards to donate in someone’s name and give the gift of preservation to a history buff in your life.
