Triple Your Impact at Sites Like Appomattox

Triple Your Impact at Sites Like Appomattox

I recently told you about a special, limited-time opportunity to end the year with a gift that will benefit Americans of all ages, both now and in the future. Thanks to an extremely generous match made available by our donors, any gift made between now and the end of the year will have triple the impact, up to $125,000!

What better way to celebrate the final days of the Civil War Trust’s 30th anniversary year than by helping us to preserve sacred sites such as Appomattox Court House, where Robert E. Lee’s fabled Army of Northern Virginia finally surrendered. The magnanimity and compassion in victory demonstrated by Ulysses S. Grant and the humility in defeat shown by Lee continue to serve as examples to people of all ages. Grant, for his part, later wrote, “I felt like anything rather than rejoicing at the downfall of a foe who had fought so long and valiantly, and had suffered so much for a cause, though that cause was, I believe, one of the worst for which a people ever fought, and one for which there was the least excuse. I do not question, however, the sincerity of the great mass of those who were opposed to us.”

Everything the Civil War Trust has achieved, we have achieved because of members like you. I know we can count on you again to help ensure that sites like Appomattox will be permanently protected from developers.

Please take advantage of this special opportunity to triple the impact of your tax-deductible donation!
