Chancellorsville 155th: Live from Facebook

Chancellorsville 155th: Live from Facebook

Join us live on Facebook for the 155th anniversary of the Battle of Chancellorsville. The Civil War Trust will be all over the Chancellorsville Battlefield on May 2, 3 and 10, bringing you virtually to all the highlights of Gen. Robert E. Lee’s most stunning battlefield victory.

Chancellorsville was one of the most famous battles of the Civil War. Gen. Lee and his outnumbered Army of Northern Virginia outmaneuvered and outfought their perennial  foe, the Union's Army of the Potomac, in the dense "Wilderness" of Spotsylvania County, Virginia. By the end of the battle, the names of some 30,000 men lined the casualty lists, and one of Lee's most trusted subordinates lay dying at Guinea Station.

Experience the story live on Facebook with us. We will be joined by the staff of Fredericksburg and Spotsylvania National Military Park, members of the Central Virginia Battlefields Trust, and historians from Emerging Civil War.

This is a live event that you won’t want to miss as we visit the site of the Lee-Jackson Bivouac, the fields and woods that played host to Lt. Gen. Thomas J. "Stonewall" Jackson’s famed flank attack, the vital crossroads of Chancellorsville, and so many other places associated with this famous battle. There may be some surprises, too!

Tune in via the Civil War Trust Facebook page for this exclusive Live event throughout May 2, 3 and 10.
