Save the Date: Park Day

Save the Date: Park Day

You’re invited! On Saturday, April 7, join a battlefield or historic site in your community for Park Day 2018. This annual event brings history enthusiasts together in an effort to help keep our nation's most-storied places not only preserved, but looking their best.

Since 1996, volunteers have joined together to help their local parks and historic sites with maintenance projects large and small. It’s a fun and meaningful way to lend a hand, and in many cases, see the land that you have helped save at Civil War, Revolutionary War, and War of 1812 sites.

This year, volunteers of all ages can get out of the house, give back, and honor our history at one of nearly 160 participating sites in 32 states and DC. Park Day volunteers will help with projects such as planting flowers, raking leaves, and maintaining interpretative signs and walking trails and participants will receive a T-shirt (quantities may be limited). Many sites also offer complimentary tours or history talks after the work is complete.

As a Civil War Trust supporter, your impact is critical at these sites. Every day, you are part of the team that is helping to protect and preserve our hallowed grounds. We hope you’ll join volunteers in April to help beautify these places and share your dedication to the cause. Your effort makes a difference locally and across the country.

Take a look at our participating list of sites and find one near you.
