Keep the Momentum Going for Battlefield Restoration Projects

Keep the Momentum Going for Battlefield Restoration Projects

You hear most often from us concerning the work we do to acquire historic lands. Acquiring historic land, however, is merely the first step, albeit a deeply important step. Our work is not done until we have, to the best of our ability, restored that land to its wartime appearance.

I recently asked you to help support our restoration projects. Well, I’m humbled and honored to share the news that a generous donor has stepped forward and very kindly pledged $72,000 to jumpstart this effort.

This work includes urgent projects at Gettysburg, Vicksburg, Chancellorsville, and Appomattox that all need to be completed by the end of 2018.

As our own Matt George explains in the following video, this is complex, difficult work:

Today I am asking you to help us keep the momentum going. By restoring these hallowed grounds, you are helping to build outdoor classrooms that will spark fascination and delight in future generations, ensuring that our passion for history is carried on long after we are gone.

Please make a contribution so we can transform these battlefields and protect the land where American soldiers fought the battles that defined who we are as a nation.

Thank you for your steadfast dedication to the cause.
