This Friday, Celebrate at Mansfield
Please join Louisiana Lieutenant Governor Billy Nungesser, the Civil War Trust and Cleco as we celebrate a preservation achievement at the Mansfield State Historic Site. At the Battle of Mansfield, fought April 8, 1864, an army of fewer than 9,000 Confederate soldiers from Texas and Louisiana defeated 13,000 Union troops under Union Gen. Nathaniel Banks. Mansfield was the decisive battle of the Red River Campaign, one of the major campaigns of the American Civil War.
