Support Class Field Trips
As a supporter of the Civil War Trust, I know you care deeply about America’s history. Thanks to you, the Trust has saved more than 43,000 acres of American battlefield land a tremendous accomplishment of which you should be proud. I cannot thank you enough.
Of course, saving land is only the first step. We must also work to get people onto battlefields, so they can see these sites and appreciate the sacrifices made by our nation’s citizen solders so many years ago. We at the Trust consider these sites outdoor classrooms where Americans especially young people can find a tangible link to the past.
That’s why we created the Civil War Trust Field Trip Fund. The fund sponsors school field trips to battlefields and other historic sites for students who might not otherwise be able to make such a trip. This is just one way you can help the next generation of Americans learn about and appreciate the history I know you cherish.
We now have a tremendous, limited-time opportunity. Between now and “Giving Tuesday” (November 29), a generous supporter has pledged to match your donation to the Field Trip Fund, dollar for dollar, up to $15,000. This is a special chance to double your impact and inspire the next generation of history enthusiasts and battlefield preservationists.
By supporting the Field Trip Fund you are helping to ensure the next generation of Americans our children and grandchildren have a chance to see and feel the land that you and I have saved the land where the great tests of our nation were decided.
P.S. This matching offer is only available online and only until November 29, so please donate today!
