Grey horses are born another colour eg black, brown, chestnut, etc and as the horse matures its coat turns grey.

All horses marked with the star * are likely to have white markings on face and legs below the ankle. The face, marking, called a " blaze", can be large or small. Few horses have no blaze. Likewise, few have no " socks" on the legs or on all four legs one or two is normal.
